KCET Counselling Procedure : Steps and Required                                                        Documents. 

The KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) counseling procedure involves online document verification and Registration, choice filling (option entry) and locking, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted instituteCandidates who have qualified in the KCET exam are eligible to participate. The process includes multiple rounds to fill vacant seats.  A candidate will go through the following stages while participating in the counselling.

  • Document verification and Registration
  • Choice filling & locking
  • Seat Allotment
  • Reporting to the respective institutes

KCET Document verification and Registration1. Document Verification:

  • Candidates must register for KCET counseling on the official KEA website.
  • They need to verify their documents online at designated helpline centers. 
  • Required documents include SSLC/10th and 2nd PUC/12th mark sheets, study certificates, application form printout, fee payment proof, and admit card. 
  • Caste and other relevant certificates may also be required. 
  • A verification slip is issued after successful verification.

Candidates have to reach the counselling venue along with the required documents. They must carry the compulsory documents in original along with two sets of photocopies. The concerned authority will check all the documents. If all the documents were found correct then the candidate will get a slip, which will have a unique id and password. The following documents are required at the time of document verification:

  • Copy of KCET application form
  • Copy of KCET admit card
  • Application fee payment proof
  • Class 10/SSLC mark sheet & certificate
  • Class 12/2nd PUC mark sheet & certificate
  • 7 years study certificate countersigned by the concerned BEO / DDPI
  • Recent passport size photograph (two copies)
  • Income certificate
  • Rural study certificate
  • Caste certificate
  • Kannada Medium Certificate (Candidates who have studied in Kannada Medium from Class 1 to 10 in Karnataka and also outside the state of Karnataka)
  • Parent’s study certificate / Parent’s Hometown certificate / Parent’s Domicile certificate / Parent’s Employment certificate / Parent’s Cumulative Record / Parent’s Marks Card, etc., for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats based on the domicile/study/employment of the parent
  • Identity card issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner / District Magistrate / Rehabilitation Commissioner, for the candidates claiming eligibility for Government seats under Jammu & Kashmiri Migrants quota   
         

KCET Choice Filling & Locking

After document verification, the candidates will have to log in to their account using a unique id and password. After that, they will have to fill out their preference of college and course. A candidate shall be able to check the course-wise, category wise and college-wise seat matrix at the time of choice filling. Select the preferences carefully however, a candidate can modify, add or delete the choices in every round of counselling.

KCET Seat Allotment

The seat allotment result will release after the completion of the choice filling procedure. Candidates will have to log in to their accounts in order to download the seat allotment letter. The seat allotment letter will have information such as Allotted College, Reporting Date, etc.

Reporting to the Allotted College

In order to confirm the admission, report to the allotted college on the mentioned date and time. Carry the other required documents along with the allotment letter to the college for the purpose of verification.
